Swim Meet Info - Thursday June 24th

    Good afternoon everyone!

Now that this is becoming more familiar, I really don't need to say much, but here is the info about the pool, location, and our meet this Thursday, June 24th. Swimmer entries and needed volunteer positions are open and can be registered for here: ORCA vs EYF Swim Meet.

    Location: Ed Cothren Pool

1737 Reynolds Street, Knoxville TN. 37921

The opposing team will warmup from 5:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. and ORCA will warmup from 5:30 to 6:00 P.M.

Please try your best to be there around 10 minutes before warmups.

The worker and volunteer meeting will be held at approximately 6:00 P.M. following our warmups, and the meet will start immediately after.

Here is a general list of what we need for this, which is slightly different than our previous away meet. We need these positions so please do your best to volunteer for us. 6 Timers, 2 Stroke and turn Judges, 1 Finish Judge, 2 Jump Judges, 1 Scorer, 1 Ribbon Writer, and 1 Child Wrangler/Card Sorter.

All entries for both swimmers and volunteers need to be in the website by 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 23rd. This will close and merge automatically by the other team, so anything not in the system by that time is out of my control.

The parking lot is next to the baseball field, right past the Mobile Meals Community Kitchen building.

    Spectator Seating:

There is plenty of spectator seating surrounding the pool area, but parents are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets to sit on. Our area to set up will be located opposite the entrance to the pool in the pavilion.

    Additional Info:

    • This pool does not have lighting for nighttime hours, so the meet will have to be finished by at least 9:00 P.M.
    • The pool is standard 25 meters, just like at the outdoor pool. The Civic Center is in yards, so just a tiny bit shorter than the outdoor pool.
    • I will try to provide both cards and timing sheets for the lane timers just to alleviate any sort of issues that may arise and for less hassle during the 25 meter swims.
